New description:

 I have just updated my McBook Pro to El Capitan and I followed the
 instructions at https://trac.macports.org/wiki/Migration to update
 MacPorts after the migration.
 I have downloaded MacPorts.2.3.4-10.pkg, unpacked and run the
 installation, and everything seemed to be OK. However if I now run:

 {{{
 sudo port -v selfupdate
 }}}

 I have the following error message:

 {{{
 ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync
 receiving file list ... done

 sent 36 bytes  received 69 bytes  70.00 bytes/sec
 total size is 27013120 speedup is 257267.81
 receiving file list ... done

 sent 36 bytes  received 76 bytes  44.80 bytes/sec
 total size is 512 speedup is 4.57
 Error: Failed to verify signature for MacPorts source!
 To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide:
     http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets
 Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed: Failed to verify
 signature for MacPorts source!
 }}}

 Any idea what am I doing wrong?

 The details of my machine are:

 {{{
 MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)
 Processor: 2.2GHz Intel core i7
 Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
 Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
 }}}

 Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

 Cheers,

 Fab
