 I can't reproduce the issues reported, and the fact that you describe two
 applications lead me to think that the issue is not directly with the
 applications. Did you perform the steps to let KDE programs launch as
 described in the notes of kdelibs4?

   Don't forget that dbus needs to be started as the local user (not with
 sudo) before any KDE programs will launch.
   To start it run the following command:

   launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-
 session.plist

   An agent to provide communication between KDE programs must be started.
   To start it run the following command:

   launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.macports.kdecache.plist
