 Installing on El Capitan 10.11.3. I have successfully installed macports
 version 2.3.4. But it's only present for my login user, not root. Without
 root, I can't perform selfupdate. The solution may be as simple as adding
 the location of port to root's PATH. But if that step is required for
 normal operation (as appears to be the case), I want the package installer
 to do that for me.
