 I think this issue is very similar to this (3 years ago and later solved):

Comment:

 I don't know why the "''file'' does not exist in ''directory''" error
 sometimes occurs, but the workaround is to clean the affect port and try
 again, which is the first thing we require you to do in the
 [https://guide.macports.org/chunked/project.html#project.tickets ticket
 filing instructions].
