 FWIW, the current MacPorts version opencv @3.1.0_3 builds fine for me with
 current ffmpeg-devel @20160831_0+gpl2+x11 so if you are using MacPorts
 please update to the latest port versions
 {{{
 $ sudo port selfupdate
 }}}

 If you're not using MacPorts (why not?), there's not much we can do to
 help.
