 four months. I still have a perfectly good fix sitting here. OK to push
 it?

 Meanwhile, I am working on adding a copyfile implementation to
 legacysupport that this port, and all the others that need copyfile, can
 use. Dunno when it will be available, but it should help a lot of this
 trouble.
