 Thanks!  I see what you are doing.  I didn't realize that local ports take
 precedence over ports stored on the rsync servers on the internet even if
 the ports on the rsync servers on the internet are newer versions!

 That is very helpful!  I will setup my own local repos for ports I would
 like to keep back.  And I will start creating and testing my own portfiles
 for some applications that I always wanted in Macports.
