 @ryandesign I tried to test out your pull request but it didn't work for
 me. Maybe it was the way I tried to copy it. I cloned your repo:
 https://github.com/ryandesign/macports-ports/tree/gnulib. Checked out the
 gnulib branch. Then copied the the 7 files you changed from the repo to my
 corresponding macports folders. Is there any easier way to do this? When I
 was done with the copying the files I ran "sudo port install m4". I saw
 the same "confdir-14B--/" text repeated still. Does m4 install for you?
