Macports "broken by default" (Re: gnome-vfs missing dependencies?)

Sure, but it is also a fair point to mention that going to a competitor is
always an option.  If competitors exist for product A but people say
"product A sucks", why don't they use product B ?  Well probably because a
fair analysis of product A, for all its shortcomings, must be more
positive than one is willing to admit.  It may be that the closer one gets
to something better, the more frustrating it is to the humans involved in
the areas where it falls short.  But there's not a lot we can do to change
 human nature.  :)
