GnuCash and guile

I was trying to install GnuCash and it said I didn't have guile. So I
installed guile manually and now it apparently thinks the guile that
got installed isn't good enough.

Any hints about where to go from here? I tried installing slib, but it
says it's already installed.

Thanks,
Todd
