Hi,
MacPorts apache2 lives in /opt/local/apache2/bin. This directory is  
not in the default PATH, so if you just write the command you showed,  
it probably gives you the builtin, so this behaviour is expected. So  
check your PATH with 'echo $PATH' or similar.
