thanks.  i'm on that.

for now i just dumped the latest ruby.tar.gz into distfiles and, for  
better or worse, am trying to figure out how to build it via ports...

ps. i'm debugging a memory leak that, in theory, that most recent  
patch fixes but the port is at patchlevel zero so...
