icon generation on OS X 10.6

I know that, but that's not the question here. The question is, why do KDE applications not get an icon on 10.6 when the tool to generate an icns file is available and gets picked up by the build procedure?
Note that Qt4 applications DO get an icon on OS X 10.6 .
