If one has a too-small SSD, it seems more-than-a-little strange to complain that building/installing a bunch of software packages consumes it. Get a bigger drive. Or smaller expectations.<br></div></blockquote></div><br>On the one hand, I run MacPorts on my 2011 MacBook Air and yes, the SSD is always a size issue.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">On the other hand, I solved it by copying most of /opt/local/var/macports onto an external USB drive and symlinking it back.
