 Hi Martin,

 Thank you for your help. It was indeed the issue. I was binding to the
 QCPatchController and not the QCView (I had an issue where I wasn't able
 to get the attr_accessor values to show up in interface builder and I went
 on a wild goose chase for a couple of hours until a MacRuby reinstall
 fixed the issue). MacRuby is not the issue.
