 First, there is a bug in Array#delete. We check if the array can be
 modified *after* deleting the item, while it should be done first.

 []
 $ ruby -e "a=[1]; a.freeze; a.delete(1) rescue nil; p a"
 [1]
 }}}

 This bug is fixed in r5193.
