Depends on which reader you are using and whether you have support for the card's/token's applet via Tokend either directly from Apple (CAC/CACNG(beta)/PIV/BELPIC/JPKI) or from a third-party.  If you have a supported reader [1] and the applet is supported then you most assuredly would be able to login to any Mac OS X System (Client / Server).
