It's essential in GNU Emacs to be able to apply the control modifier  
to mouse clicks. For those who don't need menus in xterm or don't use  
GNU Emacs it's OK to offer them this *option* or choice. No force, no  
such so-called default.

I'd wish that the FN key could be used to produce button2 or button3 ...
