Wow, I can't believe nobody noticed that before.  It's fixed now in git.

Explain what you mean by this?  Is there anything useful in system.log?

I don't see anything that would show a hang of X11 there.  Do you have  
a trace?

I'd recommend trying 2.3.2_rc2 instead of going down to 2.3.0.   
2.3.2_rc2 is very usable.  There are a few quirks with quartz-wm with  
the maximize button, but there is a fix for that in the other thread.   
The only thing blocking it at this point from release is more GLX  
updates.
