Hi,
I've figured out how to replace it every time.
1. Start X11 with Full Screen preference disabled.
2. Go into X11 preferences and enable full screen mode
3. Press Ctrl-Option-A
4. in Xterm type "xsetroot -solid red"
If X11 starts in Full Screen mode, it doesn't seem to crash. I put
this detail in the bug, Ticket #211.
Cheers,
Jamie
