Not in /tmp/ in any case. I rebooted, which cleaned /tmp/ out and 
repopulated it with a couple of launch* things. The problem is still there.

Then I installed X11-2.2.1, logout/login: Problem gone;
Then I reinstalled X11-2.3.0-rc4, logout/login: Problem reappears.

I tried it from a different, completely standard, user account: Same 
problem.
