No, you're seeing it right.

The SU thrashes the X11 update.  I wanted to require 10.5.7, so you are 
forced to update the OS first.  I was under the impression that 10.5.7 
was released to the public last week.  I was in error there.  Just hold 
tight and install 2.3.3 once 10.5.7 is publicly released or just stick 
with the latest 2.3.3 release candidate which works on 10.5.6
