[Xquartz-dev] 2.4.0_beta4 and beta5

Having done this on my G4 laptop = in somewhat less haste. I think
that I have a diagnosis of what happened.
I got the automatic initial window with the spinning wait - but
immediately pressed the Install button.
So the downloader was trying to get the info page from macosforge.org -
and presumably this was not cancelled by the Install Update button -
and the download application remained active. Perhaps it kept trying
and got in the way of the download?
On the laptop - I clicked Install and relaunch and the existing X11
crashed.
I've got the crash log - and posted it as bug report on
xquartz.macosforge.org.
That also happened on my PowerPC Imac.
