The case is more interesting than thought!

The first GNU Emacs 24.0.50 I built was using the Xaw3d toolkit. This  
Emacs does *not* launch nor does it emit a message. Otool shows that  
it uses only libs from MacPorts and X11, lsof approves this.

 From the same sources after re-configuration I built a version using  
the GTK-2 toolkit – it launches!


While installation is on its way I'll have afterwards a tool to work  
with MacPorts, rebuilding Xaw3d, installing ImageMagick, seeing how  
this effects the built of GNU Emacs with the Xaw3d toolkit.

And later, I think, I'll try to set up Port files for up-to-date  
libotf and libm17n components...


BTW, I have saved what happened in NS variant Emacs in *compilation*  
buffers when configure or make were running. No libraries and no C  
header files from /usr/local or /sw were used (compilation with gcc -H).
