You can also exec it if you'd rather do that...

mkdir ~/.xinitrc.d
echo "exec /usr/X11/bin/twm" > ~/.xinitrc.d/99-twm.sh
chmod 755  ~/.xinitrc.d/99-twm.sh

Just put it in your xinitrc.d script or in a different one that would execute before yours.
