X11-2.3.1.pkg does not work! Even after re-installation. I see a
second X server icon leap in the dock, or two, but actually it's the
MacPorts X server that takes over. But not completely: One xterm is
launched by X11-2.3.1 – because there is no ~/.xinitrc file? No,
direct take-over of MacPorts X server! So away with it! I get now two
xterms. One has DISPLAY=/tmp/launch-2YPA6q/org.macports:0 and also:

pete 218 /\ pstree -w -p $$
-+= 00001 root /sbin/launchd
  \-+= 00210 pete /sbin/launchd
    \-+= 04898 pete /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11
-psn_0_258111
      \-+- 04899 root /usr/bin/login -fp pete /bin/sh -c /usr/X11/bin/
xterm
        \-+- 05140 pete /usr/X11/bin/xterm
          \-+= 05200 pete -tcsh
            \-+= 05326 pete pstree -w -p 5200
\--- 05327 root ps -axwwo user

The other has DISPLAY=:0.0 and also:

pete 218 /\ pstree -w -p $$
-+= 00001 root /sbin/launchd
  \-+= 00210 pete /sbin/launchd
    \-+= 04900 pete /bin/sh /opt/local/bin/startx
      \-+- 05068 pete xinit /opt/local/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc -- /opt/
local/bin/X :0 -dpi 96 -auth /Users/pete/.serverauth.4900
        \-+= 05104 pete /opt/local/bin/blackbox
\-+- 05131 pete xterm -class UXTerm -title uxterm -u8
            \-+= 05143 pete -csh
              \-+= 05459 pete pstree -w -p 5143
\--- 05460 root ps -axwwo user

I can launch from the first (real) xterm GNU Emacsen. 24.0.50 is OK,
and so are 23.3 and 22.3. They inherit the lengthy DISPLAY value,
pstree shows that they are connected to /Applications/Utilities/
X11.app. This X server's programme icon in Dock says that the
programme does not respond or react (I see a German text).

X11-2.3.2.1 behaves similarly, with two X servers. The Emacsen I
launch from the xterm with DISPLAY=/tmp/launch-2YPA6q/org.macports:0
show all text OK.

X11-2.3.3.2 behaves similarly, with two X servers. The Emacsen I
launch from the xterm with DISPLAY=/tmp/launch-2YPA6q/org.macports:0
show all text OK.

The

Waiting for startup parameters via Mach IPC.

message comes every time.

Can I "test" more X servers? If yes: which ones?
