co-worker shown as always busy
Hi list, a co-worker is having an issue where anyone who tries to send an invite sees the calendar as constantly busy. We have a Mac OS X server ( version 10.7.4 ) and no error to see in the logfiles. This problem exists since she came back from vacation. What could be the cause of this? Any suggestions would be appreciated :) Thanks, Sirko

Check to see whether that person has all-day events on their calendar for the period they are busy, and see if those are marked to show them as busy. -- Cyrus Daboo
I tried to add a event far in the future ( 2015 ) but it always shows that she is unavailable, every day.. screenshot: https://31337deadbeef.cc/screenshot.png Sirko On 07.06.2013, at 17:08, Cyrus Daboo <cdaboo@apple.com> wrote:

Could it be their "Availability" settings for their account -- configurable in iCal's Accounts > Account Information pane -- are set to hours that are too restrictive? On Jun 7, 2013, at 8:25 AM, Sirko Mann <smann@datameer.com> wrote:

That looks correct. I wonder if somehow the server’s notion of their availability differs from what the UI is showing. You can use a web browser to inspect the availability settings by browsing to... https://[servername]:8443/calendars/users/[username]/inbox/ (You’ll need to log in as that user, or you should be able to view that using your own account as long as that user has delegated to you) ...and scrolling down to the {http://calendarserver.org/ns/}calendar-availability section. In there you should see something like: BEGIN:AVAILABLE UID:F2D88509-9769-4824-85AA-BD81D466AFBD DTSTAMP:20130610T162614Z DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20130510T080000 RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;BYDAY=MO,TU,WE,TH,FR DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20130510T180000 END:AVAILABLE See if the DTSTART and DTEND times (following the T, e.g 080000 = 8am) and the timezones are what you expect. That looks correct. I wonder if somehow the server’s notion of their availability differs from what the UI is showing.

See if the DTSTART and DTEND times (following the T, e.g 080000 = 8am) and the timezones are what you expect.

I did what you mentioned and this looks also correct to me:
BEGIN:AVAILABLE UID:xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx DTSTAMP:20130606T171928Z DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20130506T080000 RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;BYDAY=TH,FR,MO,TU,WE DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20130506T180000 END:AVAILABLE
Do you have any other idea where to look at? It's a big problem for us..
Is that the right timezone - America/Los_Angeles? i.e., is this user really at current utc-offset -7 hours?

i'm not sure but i guess this co-workers is not located in LA. should be in CA, San Francisco (3 hours before). Ok, i will ask our co-worker.
LOL. sorry LA and SF are in the same time zone :)
Please do the following: create an event on your calendar for 12.00 pm and add the person having problems as an attendee. Use the "Show availability" link to bring up the free-busy panel - grab a screenshot of that and send it to me. Also include information about what timezone you are in (what does your client show). -- Cyrus Daboo
Hi, sorry for the delay. i did what you described and both events (one for each time zone) was successfully accepted by the attendee. The screenshots show first the not available sign, and after accepting the green icon which is not on the screenshot. german time zone event https://www.dropbox.com/s/i8dobgw9qoh43qd/Screen%20Shot%202013-06-13%20at%20... la time zone event https://www.dropbox.com/s/n884b6uuhws00gl/Screen%20Shot%202013-06-13%20at%20... Looks like she is the whole day not available?? Marko

Hi List, this problem is now solved. It was a problem with some all-day events in different calendars. Thanks, Sirko On 13.06.2013, at 16:25, Cyrus Daboo <cdaboo@apple.com> wrote:
