mod_fcgid 2.0 does not install (make fails)

Hi, I'm having trouble getting the new mod_fcgid 2.0 to install (see details below)... apache2(a)2.2.3_2 is installed and working fine, MacPorts is at 1.320 and up to date. No problems with the previous version, mod_fcgid 1.09. equivalent to "fink apropos" ?

rsync readlink failed invalid argument?

I have macports 1.320. When I self port -d selfupdate it prints: DEBUG: Rebuilding the MacPorts base system if needed. gtk-sharp

Is gtk-sharp going to get upgraded? The old 1.0 release is really not usable at this point and since Macports has the current version of GTK it should be straightforward to upgrade it. Fink maintains two versions, gtk-sharp and gtk-sharp2, although I'm not sure that is the best way. Scheme 48 as inferior Emacs scheme

I installed scheme 48 and emacs from macports. Emacs flashes the intro screen every time it opens, and it cannot run an inferior scheme. What do I need to do to fix these problems? starting fresh

Hi Due to a number of problems im having (with dependencies and so on) Id like to start afresh with my ports... I dont have many, really only needing apache/php/mysql... how would i start over? I assume removing /opt is a bad idea? Any suggestions? Thanks Eoghan

install of octave not possible?

Hi, I tried to install octave. First I got a checksum error because the port uses SparseSuite-2.1.1 while the current downloaded version is 2.3.1. Compilation errors with ion3

Hello, I'm having issues with compiling ion3 with my new Mac Pro. The configure script seems to be unable to locate X11/SM/SMlib.h. I have Apple's X11 installed and SMlib.h clearly exists in the proper location. I already have ion3 installed through MacPorts on both my MacBook and Mac Mini with similar setups and did not encounter this problem. Has anyone else come across this issue or know how to fix it? Problems fetching

Hi all, I have been trying to get MacPorts to work within the network I help support. It is a fairly secure network, stringent firewalls and proxies, internal IP's NATted to external IP's, ftp traffic is passed through fine however. I have been able to get the selfupdate feature working by opening port 873 to rsync.darwinports.org and this function works fine now. My problem is that when I try to install an application all connections are unsuccessful. It will attempt to fetch from the correct site but the connection cannot be established, and hence no downloading occurs. I have tested the machine on a "vanilla" isp connection and MacPorts works fine. Is anyone able to tell me whether the connections made during the fetch command are on any particular port? Once I have completed my research I would be more than willing to write a FAQ pertaining to setting up MacPorts within a secure network.
