Ok, Jeremy was correct that I would have to use the AppleWM to ditch the proxy icon. Most of what I want to do can be done right there. My big question is: Is there a source and documentation for the AppleWM on how to build and compile. I know its a dynamic library. But I am clueless starting from there. I kind of wish there was a dummies guide to this. -- Shane Dobbins

What I thought the Xplugin was just connecting the x-server to aqua resources. The window's frame was controlled outside of the plugin by the external system frame was created by the windows manager from the information provided by the xplugin. Am i totally off? On the question #2. it was the "Full Screen" mode. I was looking at the rootless window. add the full screen option to like on the Safari 6 with the 2 arrows on the top left corner. I was thinking about applying it to where ever the window we currently see, and then binding it directly to the ZoomWindow button in the AppleWM. If the Zoom option is available so would fullscreen.

XComposite

I apologize if this has already been discussed. I have an X11 app that can take advantage of some features of XComposite. Is XComposite supported on XQuartz? What is the recommended way to enable it? -Dave

XQuartz 2.7.4

Hi all, I've just released XQuartz 2.7.4. This release addresses some issues that users have been seeing using GLX (eg: games under wine) on OS X 10.7.5 and 10.8.2. question Quartz-WM options

Hello, I was wanting to make changes to the quartz managers and I hope I email this correctly. Q1: On the Xquartz application. we see the X11 logo on top of all windows @ the location for a proxy icon. I was told that the X11 image was compiled into the libXplugin.dylib that apple has kept closed source. What I am wondering is: does it leave the option open for changing this? There seems to be no documentation on the library and its usage. Q2: I like to update the screen resize functionality and add the native full screen support for 10.7+ users. Would this be part of the Window Manager or a part of the Xquartz? thank you Shane

Project Downtime

You may have noticed that xquartz.macosforge.org is down. We migrated the project to new hardware, but during that process, I messed up the original DNS change. So we're still waiting on the DNS to update, which should happen in 30-60 minutes. In the meantime, you can temporarily point your hosts file at 17.251.224.40. Sorry for the downtime, -Bill
