Our existing OD directory service really does need OD on OS X server. Some
other people have been working on a generic LDAP directory service for the
calendar server and that would in theory work with any LDAP server.

At this point your best bet is to go with the XML directory given that the
number of users you need to manage is small, and that we will soon have
some admin tools out that will make it easier to manage.
