ParseDate has been removed from ruby 1.9, of which MacRuby is a fork.

That github fork of the rtf gem fixes the dependency on parsedate:
http://github.com/clbustos/rtf/commit/8801d649901d180a8224cae8ca3850ae381f0dcf

You can install that fork as a gem:

   sudo macgem install clbustos-rtf
