The user already has to discover that the option even exists, and then
manually configure it via the command-line. If they're able to do
that, surely they'll be competent enough to turn it back off if they
have problems with it(!?).
It's a very useful feature for some of us. If anyone were to revisit
the feature, I would vote for further refining it instead of excising
it.
