[Xquartz-dev] Quitting XQuartz 2.7.0 (xorg-server 1.11.2) stalls Mac OS X 10.6.8

I see nothing in here to indicate that your system is locked, or that X11 is somehow responsible.  Did you follow my other suggestions (like sshing in)?  Also, 2.3.6 is quite old.
