Now we are trying to make that the practice to follow!? Why aren't we fixing the Perl @INC order like other distros? This allows Perl modules that are installed to take priority over the Perl base modules. I have listed the paths for MacPorts and Debian below. You can see that Debian has many locations Perl modules can be installed and used before the base Perl modules are used. I think all the vendor paths should be moved to the top of the @INC list (this needs to be fixed in the perl5.8 Portfile). However, there is a simple fix, which is to add the line: {{{ configure.args CXXFLAGS=\"-fno-strict-aliasing\" }}} to the portfile. More details of why this is necessary can be found here: http://damnsmalllinux.org/f/topic-3-19-15772-0.html Having manually added this line to my portfile, I can now play TADS 3 games. I'll attach a tarball of the Portfile and related files. These work for me for doing both +framework and without (just standard dylib) on 10.4 (not at the same time).
