Packages exist for all major distrib : https://launchpad.net/byobu I have compiled and tested it locally and it works fine. The only thing missing is the tool "byoby-config" which require the Snack software and its python biding (http://www.speech.kth.se/snack/index.html) and they are not present in MacPorts. I haven't tried either of the Python 3.x variants. I tried sifting through the log but gave up pretty quickly. I compressed it before attaching, since it was 25 MB.
