Hi, all! I've successfully installed both Inkscape and The Gimp, but how do I run them? If I type the name on the command line, I get errors. I don't see icons in the Applications folder. Hi! I don't know if this is the right list, but if not perhaps so can point me to an better choice ... Where are the wiki help pages?

Hi all, I am not able to find the wiki helppages previously hosted @ opendarwin.com (e.g. http://wiki.opendarwin.org/index.php/DarwinPorts:MAMP) I believe the general rule when you schedule a transition like this is that you don't remove the previous source of help... this is very frustrating for newcomers like me... Installing SSL Certs to Use with gFTP

Dear MacPorts-Users, I'm a new MacPorts user. For my first installation, I installed gFTP because I wanted to use FTP with an IBackup.com account. I have an iBook G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.8 (PPC), MacPorts 1.320, X11 1.1.1 and Xcode 2.4. I successfully installed MacPorts and gFTP. I successfully used gFTP in the unencrypted FTP mode and both uploaded and downloaded a file from IBackup.com. I also successfully uploaded and downloaded a file using a trial copy of Panic Transmit 3 using FTP with SSL, so I'm pretty sure I got the IBackup.com settings right. I would like to use gFTP in the SSL mode. When I tried it, I got an error message. FreeTDS

Dear Mac Ports, I'm desperately trying to find a way to install FreeTDS... I followed the trail from Darwin Ports... All is good until I do: sudo port install freetds ... and then I fail to fetch the relevant source... (freetds-0.63.tar.gz...) I can locate this file at various sources... but don't know how to point DarwinPorts in the right direction. Could anyone suggest any way I can get FreeTDS onto Tiger Client? Hi ... At this time I'm working on an portfile for qucs (http:// qucs.sourceforge.net/) Becaus'e of the stripping bug with gcc 4.0 on os x I need to apply an pathfile to "configure". Even it should be possible to put this patch file to sourceforge I'll like to put it to the port ... If competitors exist for product A but people say "product A sucks", why don't they use product B ? Well probably because a fair analysis of product A, for all its shortcomings, must be more positive than one is willing to admit. It may be that the closer one gets to something better, the more frustrating it is to the humans involved in the areas where it falls short. But there's not a lot we can do to change human nature. :) Mark

Does the build failure have the same build errors as 8678? If so it could be reopened and the summary changed to include rev 6399, but since it builds on some Intel systems at least I think it would be better to have a new bug opened and "BUG: ffmpeg-0.4.9-pre1 rev 6399 won't build on Intel" or some such and the build log attached.
