problems with pkgconfig

I am trying to update several packages (gimp2 and gnome-desktop, among them), but unfortunately the configure phase fails due to the following problem with pkgconfig: configure: error: *** pkg-config not found. See http:// www.freedesktop.org/software/pkgconfig/ Warning: the following items did not execute (for glib2): com.apple.activate com.apple.configure com.apple.build com.apple.destroot com.apple.archive com.apple.install Error: The following dependencies failed to build: gtk2 glib2 pango Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. This is strange, since the latest version of pkgconfig (0.21) is installed (by DP) and active: imac-g5:~ artemio$ port installed pkgconfig The following ports are currently installed: pkgconfig @0.21_0 (active) Any suggestions anybody? error during activate step

I'm trying to write a portfile for a new package but I get an error during the activate step. There's probably a bug in my portfile but I cant find it. Can anyone have a quick look at this? problems with upgrade zlib

This is an upgrade. Took me a while to get around to it because I needed to upgrade xcode. I'm now at 2.4. Never the less, after uninstalling and cleaning, I get the same error message. Do I need to rebuild libiconv? Please keep discussion on the mailing list by using Reply To All. The php4 port version 4.4.4 revision 2 does include a gd variant. Make sure you have the latest version of the port by first saying "sudo port sync"

Panics?

Hi, this must be an odd question to make, but I've recently had difficulties with my system and I'd like to confirm that my system (i.e. computer, currently at 10.4.8 and Xcode 2.4) is a more probable culprit then the ports system. The symptom is that installing ports or getting info about them fails. The previous panic port was ruby, but it did not install at all. I don't really see a chance myself for the port command to cause a panic in such a predictable way (as tcl is using normal userland system services!?). It is more probably so(?) that there are some bad blocks or something that these installs have hit. It looks like to me that the configure.args file failed to be created. From the below it seems that it is expecting it to be in a certain directory. I have never installed this port. So I have never encountered the problem. Unable to get subversion 1.4 to work

A few days ago I decided I really needed version control, so I installed Subversion. I already have Apache2, mySQL and PHP installed via DarwinPorts, liked the simplicity of the process and decided to go the same route with Subversion. The problem is I can't Subversion to get to work for the life of me, always getting the same error "svn: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem" I've installed the following: subversion @1.4.0_0+mod_dav_svn apache2 @2.2.3_0 (I did an update around the same time) I've used svnadmin to create a repository at /usr/local/svn-repository. Then I've edited the httpd.conf file as follows: ------------------------------------------------ Listen 8080 LoadModule dav_svn_module modules/mod_dav_svn.so <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNPath /usr/local/svn-repository </Location> ---------------------------------------------- According to all the tutorials and articles I've been able to find, I should now be able to connect to svn via http://localhost:8080/svn but all I get is the "Could not open the requested SVN filesystem". I've tried changing the owner of the directory to www (which is the HTTP user), but still no go. When I try to do an import on the command line, I get: svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn' svn: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem" The Apache error log says: [Thu Oct 12 12:05:39 2006] [error] [client ::1] Could not open the requested SVN filesystem [500, #2] [Thu Oct 12 12:05:39 2006] [error] [client ::1] File does not exist: / opt/local/apache2/htdocs/favicon.ico [Thu Oct 12 12:06:08 2006] [error] [client ::1] (20014)Internal error: Can't open file '/usr/local/Subversion/format': No such file or directory I'd really appreciate some help.
