Install from most recent *.dmg file attempts to do port installs from cvs

I've just installed MacPorts 1.3.1 from the .dmg file. It installs just fine, but when I attempt to install a port, it fails because it's attempting to download from the now-defunct cvs archive, rather than the current svn one. Any clue how I fix this? Thanks Rachel

D-Bus & GNOME upgrades

This weekend I submitted a large number of D-Bus and GNOME upgrades to MacPorts, and will be submitting more in the coming days. D-Bus (port dbus): D-Bus has been upgraded from 0.61 to 1.0.2 and port dbus-glib has been added at version 0.72. This is a significant upgrade to D-Bus and breaks compatibility with version 0.61. All ports that depend on port:dbus have to be rebuilt to run. GNOME: About 3 dozen GNOME ports have been identified as having or requiring a dependency on D-Bus (I tested for apps and libs that linked against dbus-glib). The current stable version of about a dozen were known to be dependent on D-Bus 1.0.+ and have been upgraded to the latest stable versions. Another dozen or so have been revised to explicitly depend on port:dbus-glib and the revision tag has been incremented to force a rebuild when dbus is upgraded on user's systems. A few more are having one or more other build issues that need to be worked out before being upgraded. These changes should bring almost every GNOME port currently shipping in MacPorts up to GNOME 2.16.x specs, and the master GNOME port has been upgraded as well to reflect this. Hi all, I'd like to install an ansi version of wxWidgets with darwinports. By default darwinports compile wxWidgets with the --enable-unicode option. So how do I change this option with the port command and build the ansi version of wxWidgets ? Best regards Jaonary

libtool

hi :-) what does exactly port install libtool ? while making a tool, i got the error /usr/bin/libtool: unknown option character `m' in: -macosx_version_min on the list GNAT-OSX(a)hermes.gwu.edu, someone said me "It looks like it is using the wrong libtool. Apple has its own. If there is a libtool in the path that isn't the Apple version then you will have problems creating dynamic libraries." but thomas% which libtool /usr/bin/libtool so it seems to be the apple's one and after have run "port install libtool", it's the same(the error and the path), and there is no libtool binary in the bin folder of macports so, what should i do ? ps : how to know the version of the installed libtool ? -- Mon CV : http://tDeContes.hd.free.fr/divers/emploi/

libsndfile and FLAC on 10.3

Hi I am trying to install libsndfile 1.0.17 on my 10.3.9 system but it fails with > /usr/bin/libtool: can't locate file for: -lFLAC > /usr/bin/libtool: file: -lFLAC is not an object file (not allowed in a > library) > make[3]: *** [libsndfile.la] Error 1 libsndfile has no dependencies according to "port dep". So I tried installing flac first, but I still get the same error. I'm using "DarwinPorts 1.3.1-10.3" as the base system. Dave -- Dave Hill - dave at hillcroft dot org dot uk
