xmgrace and leopard?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had grace functioning under OS X 10.5. I am currently using Tiger, but haven't found any positive reports of someone getting grace working under Leopard, and that is a showstopper for my upgrading. There are some X11/Xquartz updates available, but none mention helping of building grace. Nothing in fink or at hpc.sourceforge.net yet either. Is anyone working on building this package, or is a specific problem triaged? Problem installing package

My company started to move to the Mac for our system development so I am new to Macports. Our current system requires the use of python 2.3 during its build process. I was attempting to use macports to install python23 and ran into a problem. Below is a listing with the error. selfupdate failing under Leopard (yes I read the other posts about this)

OK, MacPorts is working fine. I can add ports, upgrade them, etc. I cannot, however, run selfupdate. The latest Xcode is installed, X11 is as well. No ports are being blocked. I ran the install commands manually. Configure completes successfully but Make fails with the following error: "ld: warning in /usr/local/lib/libreadline.dylib, file is not of required architecture" So I used MacPorts to update the copy of libreadline.dylib in /opt to the latest version, copied it over to /usr/local/lib and then ran selfupdate again. It worked properly. I did switch back to the original version of libreadline.dylib because I don't want to screw up anything Apple has going on with it. Ya never know. Given this I'd say, unless this was somehow specific to me alone, either the selfupdate process should be modified as it is, under certain situations, not working in its current form or their may be a bug to file with Apple. Any ideas from you all? Qt3 on Leopard

Hi all, Is it possible to install qt3-mac on Mac OS X Leopard? When I try to install it, I get the error message "This version of Mac OS X is unsupported", but on Google I 've found the page http://qt3-mac.darwinports.com/ , which has the title "qt3-mac version 3.3.8 for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard"... Error building slib-guile16

I'm trying to install gnucash, and running into a problem with slib-guile16. It looks like there's a bug in its installation script (makefile? I'm new to this stuff), in that it tries to create a link that already exists, causing it to bomb: G5Q > sudo port install -f gnucash +guile16 ---> Staging slib-guile16 into destroot Error: Target org.macports.destroot returned: could not create new link "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_devel_slib-guile16/work/destroot//opt/local/share/guile/slib": that path already exists Error: The following dependencies failed to build: slib-guile16 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. I've verified this by installing XCode and macports (the latest versions) on my brand new laptop and simply trying 'port install slib-guile16'; it builds the dependencies but then fails to install slib-guile16, giving the same error message. As I said, I'm new to this stuff; if I knew where to look I might be able to fix it, but there are a lot of files to poke through and I don't really know what does what... Very pleased to announce that thanks to the service migrations that our host Mac OS Forge has been undergoing, and to the dedication Bill (our admin) has been putting into it, Trac ticket activity mailing has been finally enabled for ticket creators, owners, participants and, in general, to the macports-tickets(a)lists.macosforge.org mailing list, a highly requested feature enhancement. Macports on Xserve OSX server

Hey, this might be a dumb question, but I don¹t see it readily in the wiki or on the website or whatnot... I want to install macports on an OS X server (10.4 Tiger), but am having some difficulty. I installed the Xcode Tools, using default selections, and then installed macports. I then tried port selfupdate, and it complained about Library not loaded (I can give details if needed.) So I consulted the website... The website says to install Xcode Tools, and go into options, and include X11. But X11 is grayed out so I can¹t. And now I¹m in the situation where I don¹t know what to do next. Any suggestions? Again, if this isn¹t something obvious, I can include details of error messages, etc. I just thought I¹d keep it stupid for the moment, and see if someone can tell me something obvious. Thanks for your help.
