Problem installing Firefox-X11 with Gnucash

I have been having various problems, particularly with help under Gnucash & Gramps. On reading about the issues to do with the recent gettext upgrade (see http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/wiki/ProblemHotlist ) I decided to go for a clean re-install - i.e.: sudo mv /opt/local /opt/local.old then reinstall macports and then: sudo port install gnucash. However, the install process crashes during the install of firefox-x11 (the following log comes from repeating 'sudo port install gnucash' so the install is picking up at the firefox-x11 stage): php5 port and dba_open()

Hey group, I just setup apache2, mysql5 and php5. However, I get an error when I make a call to dba_open(). Fatal error: Call to undefined function dba_open() in /... Looking at the output of a call to phpinfo() I see this compile option: --enable-dba I looked around for any loadable modules, but did not find any modules. Is this a bug in the php5 build or am I missing something? Thanks, Jim

10.4.10, latest XCode, intel platform I've started the build from scratch, port had to compile everything. It stopped after many hours fetching and compiling package. gpg-agent on the Mac: is it voodoo?

I have setup dozens of Linux and FreeBSD machines with gpg-agent. But, doing it on a Mac seems to be voodoo at best. I think that every howto and thread that Google turns up is missing some extremely important prerequisites. Quite honestly, I feel like I am trashing my system with all the different installers I have ran. I am trying to get mysql to start/restart properly on my system. sudo port install mysql5 +darwin_8 +server ... I get the output ---> Creating launchd control script ########################################################### # A startup item has been generated that will aid in # starting mysql5 with launchd. Segfaults when staging into destroot

I've tried using a different tclsh, but the same problem persists. I'm not certain whether port is using the new one... I've exported PATH=/usr/local/bin, and which tclsh points to the newly installed ActiveState tclsh, but I don't know if port uses its own internal version or something? Any suggestions on where to start debugging this? So far I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, selfupgrade, moving fink (/sw) out of the way in case it was causing a conflict, but with no luck. I get this problem on almost all packages. Interestingly, it was not there originally - at least, there are some packages which I had installed before I removed and reinstalled port, which now fail to install. Thanks for any help, dave
