Using mixico to streamline HotCocoa?

Hi all, One of the more clunky aspects of Hot Cocoa is the need to repeatedly state the object being manipulated, e.g.: slider :frame => [100, 150, 200, 24] do |s| s.min = 0 s.max = 100 s.on_action do |sender| puts "Changed to #{sender.doubleValue}!" end end While I appreciate the resulting precision, the repetition feels a bit Python-esque to me. :-) My impression was that part of the reason for this was to preserve "self" instead of using instance_eval, whic h is understandable. NSArrayController

Hi, Is it possible to use bind values using macruby? I've been working through Hillegass' Cocoa Programming For Mac OS X, converting the exercises to MacRuby. I've hit a big of a snag in the RaiseMan exercise though. It uses an NSArrayController as a binding for a table view. There is then a NSDocument called Person which is bound to provide the values for the table. When I try to run this, I'm getting an error: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key employees I've tried a number of different ways to make employees respond: attr_accessor :employees and also using a manual setter (in two different ways): def employee=(val) end def setEmployee(val) end Neither seem to work. Am I doing something wrong? Is this unimplemented? I've looked at a RubyCocoa implementation of this exercise, and they just completely skip the NSArrayController and just set up a data source. Hi, I'm working through the third edition of Hillegass' Cocoa book. I'm trying to do the exercises and examples in Mac Ruby. The code will be stored on GitHub. I figured it was worth posting a mail for the archives if nothing else. http://github.com/bradx3/cocoa_book_macruby/tree/master Laurent mentioned packaging some examples in the distro. I'd be more than happy for the examples to be packaged up. They're not perfect, but I'll take care not to commit anything that is broken so feel free to pick and choose. Brad

hi everyone, I have this: urlData = NSURLConnection.sendSynchronousRequest urlRequest, returningResponse:response, error:error where urlRequest is a NSURLRequest response is a NSURLResponse error is a NSError in Objective-C response and error would be &response and &error. running this in MacRuby gives: `sendSynchronousRequest:returningResponse:error:': can't convert Ruby object `NSURLResponse' to Objective-C value of type `^@' (ArgumentError) thanks.

This URL http://skitch.com/voodootikigod/atg8/bonjour-browser shows the services on there, as you can see there is SSH out there. Any ideas sorry for being such a pest on this. I am trying to port StarJour ( http://github.com/lachie/starjour/tree/master ) over to MacRuby and need some assistance with how to override delegate functions for the NSNetServiceBrowser Is there somewhere (tutorial RFTM?) I can use to find this?
