BridgeSupport question

Hi list, my name's Carlo Zottmann, I'm from Germany, and currently diving into MacRuby. I've ran into some BridgeSupport troubles which are driving me nuts when trying to access the Keychain, couldn't get it to work, and now here I am. :) I'm running MacRuby 0.5b2 on Snopard. Here's what's happening for me. I did a `gen_bridge_metadata -f Security -o ~/Library/BridgeSupport/Security.bridgesupport`. No problems there. But in IRB I run into some issues: I do a load_bridge_support_file "Security.bridgesupport" which returns "main" (which I suppose is okay), yet trying to access `SecKeychainAddGenericPassword` etc., I end up with a "NameError: uninitialized constant SecKeychainAddGenericPassword". Trying to do framework "Security" load_bridge_support_file … in the same IRB session dumps me to the shell with "malloc: … pointer being freed was not allocated" message. Any help you guys could give me would be highly appreciated! I'm completely stumped at this point. postgres-pr, anyone?

I've been playing with macirb and trying to port a Ruby script of mine that uses a database connection to PostgreSQL. I'm currently using the pure-ruby postgres-pr gem (installed successfully with macgem) but apparently I'm getting stuck while connecting to the database. Running the same script from irb works just fine. I'm almost certain taht I'm just doing something stupid, but I just wanted to make sure that's the case. handling void pointers in callbacks

I'm working through the PragProg Core Data book, and have encountered an issue passing contextInfo to NSOpenPanel.beginSheetForDirectory This issue was discussed on the list previously by Dr. Nic: http://www.mail-archive.com/macruby-devel@lists.macosforge.org/msg00330.html The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to cast an object pointer to a void pointer in Macruby, but when openPanel calls the callback assigned in didEndSelector it does cast the pointer passed in contextInfo to a void pointer, leading to a type error when the callback is called: {{{ 2010-01-08 23:44:49.580 GrokkingRecipesRuby[34059:10b] expected instance of Pointer of type `v', got `@' }}} I tried assigning my object to a Pointer.new('^v') and Pointer.new(:uchar) but this also caused type errors. is there any workaround for this? Macruby rubygems version

Hi, I'm just messing around with a new library ensuring that it will run under most of the ruby implementations available and discovered that gemcutter will not work with macruby as the packaged rubygems is at version 1.3.1 rather than 1.3.5. Are there any plans to update this or make it "automagic"? Cheers, Ben
