Forgive me for not saying "thanks" individually, but you've all been so generous with your time and thoughts that doing so would clutter up the list.  ;)

If anyone's curious, my immediate reaction is that I'll learn both, starting by devoting a week to each just to get a feel and figure out which one I'd like to pursue to fluency first.
