Hi Josh,
Ah I see, that makes sense now - as the app I wanted to replace (Afloat) installs SIMBL first - hence me wondering whether it might have been something possible with MacRuby (without SIMBL).

It allows you to inject code into a running process. Not as a separate process, but it is possible to modify an already running process.
