Launchd, execve and execvp ...

On a fresh installation of Darwin 8.0.1, on a G4 Gigabit Ethernet, 1g RAM, 400MHz processor, I downloaded and installed the latest Macports and then did a selfupdate, which confirmed version 1.320. I then went to install AMP, which I did thusly: %sudo port install mysql4 +server %sudo port install apache2 +server %sudo port install php5 +mysql4 +apache2 +macosx During these installations I encountered the previously documented ftp bug. At these points, I stopped the installation, deleted the temp file, manually ftp'd the file into the correct directory and then restarted installation. After these three items installed successfully, I rebooted the machine. I got these error messages before the login prompt: >launchd: org.mapcports.mysql4: execve(): No such file or directory >launchd: org.mapcports.mysql4: >execvp(~/opt/local/bin/daemondo",...): No such file or directory >launchd: org.mapcports.apache2: >execvp(~/opt/local/bin/daemondo",...): No such file or directory >launchd: org.mapcports.apache2: execve(): No such file or directory Upon logging in, I ran >launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mysql4.plist and received this error >launchd: org.mapcports.mysql4.plist: execve(): No such file or directory similarly, I ran >launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.apache2.plist and got >launchd: org.mapcports.apache2.plist: execve(): No such file or directory I've Googled looking for a fix and can't seem to find one and have searched the two months of archives of this list, also finding nothing similar. RubyCocoa an RubyGems broken after last Ruby update

Building aqbanking

Has anyone gotten aqbanking to build correctly? firefox-x11 question

Hello, I'm trying to get firefox-x11 to run on an intel based macbook. I've got "port install firefox-x11" to work. Cross compiler for ARM with glibc

Hi, I apologies in advance if this the wrong mailing list. II'm porting linux to iPAQ h6300 which based on ARM925 chip, so I'm looking for cross compiler which I can use on Mac OS X. I tried to build crosstool but I had few problem with compilation, but after long search on the internet I found darwinports which seams to be the right place to do these kind of things. So is there an existing cross compiler for ARM !!! or do I need to build one !!! Thanks

gnome-applets install fails

Upgrade to GTK2 2.10.6.0

Hi all, Does anyone have problem upgrading existing GTK2 to GTK2 2.10.6? My MacBook Pro has GTK2 (2.10.2_1) installed via macports and I'm trying to upgrade to GTK2 2.10.6_0 (the latest as of this writing). I'm getting the following error: configure: error: *** Cannot link to Accessibility Toolkit. Accessibility Toolkit is required *** to build GTK+ Warning: the following items did not execute (for gtk2): com.apple.destroot com.apple.configure com.apple.build DEBUG: Registry error: XFree86 not registered as installed. invoked from within "registry_installed ${portname}" invoked from within "$workername eval registry_installed \${portname}" Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1 What is Accessbility Toolkit and where do I get it? gcc34 not building-suggestions?

I am attempting to build under 10.4.8 on a MacPro (Intel). I did try the suggestion of setting the environment var CC to a working compiler, but did not get it to work. There is a known bug in the faac. Doing the following gets: faac --long-help Freeware Advanced Audio Coder FAAC 1.24+ (Oct 26 2006) UNSTABLE Abort trap There's a fix for this somewhere that I thinks needs to be applied. Also isn't the current version 1.25? Thanks! -dan
